Itsuka, Hero Blu-ray Box

Life is a second-chance contest until the very end. A man who vanished for twenty years returns to find the children he once cared for stripped of their dreams. With nothing left to lose, this unlikely group joins forces against a corrupt and powerful establishment in a story of revenge, courage and love.

March 2005, in a small town surrounded by mountains. A farewell graduation ceremony is being held in the grounds of the Hope Road children’s home—not for the children, but for Seiji Akayama, a staff member leaving to help build a school in Cambodia. Five children, placed in care after abuse by their parents, had once lost their smiles. After five years living alongside the passionate Akayama, they have formed a bond deeper than a conventional parent-child relationship.

Despite their difficult beginnings, the children have clear dreams for the future. Moved to tears, Akayama buries a time capsule containing their ambitions in the school grounds. “People can become anything. You are my dream.” To him, the children who keep facing adversity and overcoming trials are true heroes. Believing in their futures, he leaves Hope Road—then suddenly disappears.

Twenty years later, Akayama returns to find his former pupils transformed and on the brink of despair. Now around thirty, the five have lost their hopes in a society that has become difficult to live in. Their mentor has lost everything, with neither money nor work. Reunited after two decades, they clash but gradually strengthen their bond, crossing generations to stand together against overwhelming corrupt power. What miracle can these ordinary people bring about?
