Jiro Tomioka Illustration Technique + Art Works combines commercial and original artwork with two detailed digital-painting demonstrations using SAI Ver.2. The contrasting projects show how the artist approaches both anime-style colouring and a richly painted illustration of the kind used in mobile games.

The first develops a double-page scene whose composition, character relationships and everyday details suggest a story. It moves from software setup, composition and sketching through linework, colour separation, patterns, shadows and highlights to final colour and detail adjustments. The second uses the grisaille method, building a monochrome painting before adding colour with overlays.

Columns explain straight-line drawing, selection tools, atmospheric perspective, composition, layer blending modes, clipping, grisaille principles and the eyedropper. One gallery concentrates on dynamic, story-led compositions; another features character illustrations, including Kaiju Girls and VOCALOID work. An index and notes complete the volume.
