John Williams and Steven Spielberg gather their extraordinary screen partnership in the Ultimate Collection. Beginning with The Sugarland Express in 1974, their collaboration brought music to Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. Three Blu-spec CD2 discs span that shared cinematic world.
Williams conducts the Boston Pops Orchestra in the 1990 and 1995 recordings on the first two discs. The third features the Recording Arts Orchestra of Los Angeles in sessions from 2016, taking the collection through Lincoln, War Horse, The BFG and other later collaborations.
A DVD directed and produced by Laurent Bouzereau includes an October 2016 conversation between Spielberg and Williams, alongside footage of Williams conducting the recording sessions. The approximately twenty-four-minute film includes Japanese subtitles.
