More than a thousand years before JUNK HEAD, humans have retreated to the surface while the artificial beings they created for underground labor, the Mulligans, rule a vast subterranean world. Two hundred and eighty years after the third ceasefire agreement, an unexplained disturbance prompts a joint expedition. Human captain Tris and Mulligan leader Dante guide their teams toward the underground city of Carpbal, only to come under attack from the Gyura cult. Tris is its target, and her robot protector Robin is determined to keep her safe.

Outnumbered, the expedition discovers a distortion between dimensions. Robin devises a plan that reaches beyond their own world, turning the mission into a struggle over the secrets beneath the surface and the choices required to protect Tris. Takahide Hori directs, writes, photographs, lights and edits the stop-motion science-fiction film, developed through three years of frame-by-frame production. Its intricate handmade world combines menace with humor and unexpected warmth. The voice cast includes Soko Matsuoka as Robin, Atsuko Miyake as Tris and Hori as Dante, with Yuji Sugiyama and Ikuya Itoda also contributing.

The regular edition contains the 105-minute feature on one Blu-ray. It includes the Japanese-dubbed version, the Gonyogonyo version and a Japanese audio guide. Japanese subtitles and Japanese accessibility subtitles are available.
