Kaoru Shintani Combat Graffiti brings together gun-action artwork in a 272-page, full-color collection, treating the weapons as part of the storytelling rather than incidental props. Original art from Desert Rose appears alongside Cleopatra D.C.'s Hellhouse sequence in colour, retaining the character of the original drawings, and combat scenes from Area 88's Africa arc and Balancer.
The selection also draws on Gin-iro no Shosei, the Battlefield Romance series and Christie High Tension. From compact handguns to rifles, submachine guns and rocket launchers, the collection is accompanied by Shintani's observations on notable firearms and model guns, with his perspective on Westerns and war films.
