Kaya-chan Isn't Scary Vol.1 Blu-ray

Is she really not scary? The doors open on an unstoppable horror-action kindergarten! Yuritaro's popular manga Kaya-chan Isn't Scary, serialized on the Kurage Bunch web-comic site, becomes a television anime that began in January 2026. Kaya-chan is famous at kindergarten as a problem child, but teacher Chie, assigned to look after her, discovers the power she has kept hidden.

Kaya-chan attends Hanamugi Kindergarten and possesses extraordinarily strong spiritual powers. Unseen by others, she beats up the ghosts creeping toward her friends and family. Because nobody understands her words and behavior, she is treated as a troublemaker. When her homeroom teacher Chie learns the secret, Kaya-chan's kindergarten life begins to change. Eerie, vicious supernatural beings appear one after another, and today again Kaya-chan's punches explode against them!

Hiroshi Ikehata, whose work includes Witch Watch and TONIKAWA: Over the Moon for You, directs. Shigeru Murakoshi, of Zombie Land Saga and I'm Quitting Heroing, handles series composition. Taro Yamada and Hiroyuki Moriguchi design the characters, with music by Kohta Yamamoto and Shun Narita. East Fish Studio, known for The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World and A Condition Called Love, produces this new kind of horror action.

Extras include the creditless opening, clips from episodes 1-4, a Machi Asobi stage-video digest and offshots, a special edition of the cast programme, and audio commentaries for episodes 1 and 2 with Azusa Tachibana and Maaya Uchida. A Yuritaro-illustrated outer case and special booklet were announced as first-production bonuses; their limited availability is not guaranteed.
