Kenshi Yonezu's fifteenth single is a double A-side release featuring the theme song for the television series Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX and the opening theme for the television anime Medalist.

Plazma was written especially for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, the new Gundam production bringing together Studio Khara and Sunrise. Its theatrical advance version, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, opened in January and surpassed 3.3 billion yen at the box office and two million admissions. Released digitally on January 20, the song swiftly swept the charts, reaching number one on 31 daily rankings and four weekly rankings in its first week. It continued its long-running success, returning to the top of the Oricon digital singles ranking dated February 24 in its third chart week. As overseas screenings brought further attention, the television series began airing across 30 Nippon TV network stations, becoming one of the spring anime season's most closely watched titles. Its opening sequence featuring Plazma reached number one on YouTube's trending chart.

BOW AND ARROW was written as the opening theme for Medalist and released digitally on January 27. The story follows a young protagonist whose figure-skating talent begins to blossom and a coach growing into his role as an instructor. Together, they strive for the glory of becoming a medallist. The music video attracted widespread attention through a special collaboration between Yuzuru Hanyu's skating and Kenshi Yonezu.
