Kenshi Yonezu Santa Maria Standard CD
米津玄師/サンタマリア 通常盤 ライブ特典バージョン
Kenshi Yonezu’s band sound comes into focus on Santa Maria, his first single, released around a year after diorama.
Having previously handled lyrics, composition, performance, recording, illustrations and video entirely on his own, he creates this release with a wider group of musicians for the first time.
The title song recognises how fundamentally difficult it can be for people to understand one another, yet still chooses to take someone’s hand and move forward. It conveys a sense of Yonezu’s own resolve.
His characteristic programmed sounds stir the emotions as live guitar, drums, bass, piano and strings build a beautiful, expansive setting. The melody commands attention, the lyrics tighten their grip, and the voice holds the listener’s heart.
