Kirby Star Allies Official Design Collection opens up the visual development of Kirby's Nintendo Switch adventure through more than 500 pieces of artwork and design material, including content from all of the game's free updates. Key visuals and original illustrations are accompanied by commentary from the designers.

Copy Abilities, Friend Actions, Dream Friends and enemies appear alongside the settings that give each stage its character. Early sketches and design proposals can be compared with their finished in-game appearances, tracing how ideas developed into the world players explore.

The collection also examines early concepts, interface design, Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go!, The Ultimate Choice, Heroes in Another Dimension and commemorative illustrations. Interviews with the director and programmers add a development perspective to this 200-page Japanese-language volume published by Ambit.
