Kochira Yobi Jiei Eiyuuho?! Blu-ray Box

Heroes, a closed-room conversation drama and comedy collide in a hero story full of eccentricities. Can personal insecurities save the planet? A hero drama without action, built around conversations in a confined space—who are the seven reserve self-defense hero candidates? Koji Kato takes his first turn creating, writing and directing a hero drama, overturning the genre’s familiar rules.

Fuma Kikuchi of timelesz stars as a part-time worker at rock bottom. For a certain reason, he has struggled to fit in with others since childhood and carries a deep sense of insecurity. Alongside leading roles in dramas and films, Kikuchi works across entertainment as a variety-show host and on YouTube.

Non, whose work spans acting, music, filmmaking and art, plays Sae, an office worker who avoids contact with others for a certain reason and remains isolated at her company. Yuki Morinaga plays university student Chuta. Takenori Goto, active in film, television and theatre, plays truck driver Yutani. Young actor and exclusive non-no model Rina Komiyama plays university student Sapipi. Actor and ceramic artist Mitsuko Oka plays Fujiwara, while Shigeyuki Totsugi plays researcher Mizuno. Seiji Rokkaku brings his distinctive character acting to Ministry of Defense official Madozumi.

Sakanaction performs the theme song, “Iranai,” while NF, the project led by the band’s Ichiro Yamaguchi, provides the drama’s music. This is Sakanaction’s first theme for a Nippon TV network drama in around twelve years, since the 2014 series Kinkyori Renai: Season Zero. The collaboration came about through a request from Koji Kato.

Nagare and six others are secretly summoned to the Ministry of Defense. Each possesses an ability with a bizarre catch. What is the real reason they have been gathered? Can seven people at their lowest point use the very insecurities that trouble them to save Earth? This unconventional hero drama follows their extraordinary meeting.

The box contains the complete ten-episode series, behind-the-scenes making-of footage, an outer sleeve case, a booklet and a set of eight Reserve Self-Defense Hero Candidate cards.
