Konbanwa, Asayama-ke Desu Blu-ray Box

Screenwriter Kenta Asayama eagerly awaits the first broadcast of his new morning drama, hoping to watch this career milestone with his family. Instead, he finds himself alone in the living room. His wife Asako, who also runs his talent agency, is juggling housework, preparations for work and their sixth-grade son Haruta, whose developmental differences make mornings difficult. Their teenage daughter Choko has little interest in her father's triumph. To Kenta it is a lonely landmark day; to Asako it is the beginning of another exhausting day spent watching him search for praise online while she carries the family's responsibilities.

Asako is determined to help her husband achieve his long-held ambition of directing a film, even as his self-absorption repeatedly drives her to anger. Their clashes, raised voices and stubborn affection shape a family comedy-drama about getting through daily difficulties together. Shin Adachi writes and directs from material inspired by his family diary, with Anne Nakamura and Yukiyoshi Ozawa playing the couple. The story draws on the experiences behind Adachi and his wife Akiko's book about moving through life when a relentlessly positive outlook is no longer enough.

The cast includes Honami Sato, Ken Kojima of Ae! group, Yuka Kageyama, Miyu Watanabe, Tetta Shimada, Kazunari Tosa, Hiroki Sano, Terunosuke Takezai, Aoba Kawai, Tomomi Maruyama, Shohei Uno and Satoru Matsuo. LiLiCo and comedian Kuroda appear as themselves. FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY’S performs the theme "Come back home". ABC Television produces the series with production cooperation from S.D.P.

The box contains all eight episodes, totaling 352 minutes, on three main discs and a fourth disc of extras. A making-of feature, the production announcement press conference and a success-prayer event accompany the drama, together with a booklet. Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo audio is provided without subtitles.
