Legendz: Tale of the Dragon Kings RE-BOOOORN!! Blu-ray Box

Shiron comes back—RE-BOOOORN! Released in 2021, this Blu-ray box brings Legendz: Tale of the Dragon Kings back to home video around fifteen years after its 2004–2005 DVD releases. All fifty television episodes appear in HD-remastered form. Set in New York’s Manhattan and Brooklyn, the series follows the bonds of friendship between the Legendz and their human Saga partners as the ancient Legendz War returns to the modern world.

Long ago, Earth was home to mysterious creatures called Legendz. Humans able to communicate with them were known as Sagas. The creatures’ tremendous powers led to battles among the Legendz and eventually a war that drew in their human partners. Wounded in the conflict, the Legendz were sealed inside crystalline Soul Dolls and fell into a long sleep.

The story resumes in the present when the toy company Dark Wiz Company discovers the Soul Dolls. Shu, an energetic and carefree boy living in Brooklyn, spends his days with childhood friends Mack and Meg. Everything begins to change when his father gives him a toy called a TalisPod. Children everywhere use these popular devices to raise virtual Legendz and make them battle—but Shu’s is special: it can revive real Legendz.

Targeted by Dark Wiz Company, Shu brings the Wind Dragon Shiron back to life to escape his pursuers. In doing so, he becomes entangled in the Legendz War.

The box and inner case feature new illustrations by original creator Kenji Watanabe. A fifty-two-page booklet includes a special conversation between Watanabe and director Akitaro Daichi, while video extras collect creditless opening and ending sequences and commercials.
