Lion no Kakurega Blu-ray Box

Lion no Kakurega turns the quiet routines of two brothers into a family mystery when a small boy arrives at their home and announces that he will be living with them. Yuya Yagira plays the older brother, a city-hall employee who has organized his daily life around his younger brother's needs since their parents died. Ryota Bando plays his autistic younger brother, who works at a design company and finds security in a predictable schedule.

The child calls himself Lion, but his identity and the reason he has been left with them are unclear. His arrival disrupts the household, and the older brother initially considers asking the police to take him into protective care. Then an anonymous message reaches the phone the boy has brought, stirring a memory of someone from the past. Marks on the child's body deepen his concern, while elsewhere a desperate missing-person report develops into a widely discussed case involving a mother and child.

As the brothers grow closer to their unexpected guest, the search for answers becomes inseparable from their determination to protect him. The original drama combines a suspenseful investigation with a sensitive story of brotherhood, responsibility and changing family bonds. Yagira and Bando are joined by Tasuku Sato as Lion, with Asuka Saito, Hayato Kakizawa, Noriko Iriyama, Taiiku Okazaki, Takumi Ozaki, Yuki Sakurai, Amane Okayama, Denden, Osamu Mukai and Machiko Ono among the ensemble. Vaundy's theme song Fujin accompanies the story.

The four-disc Blu-ray box contains all eleven episodes, with director's cuts of episodes 1, 4 and 6 through 11. Approximately 502 minutes of programme are spread across three discs, while a fourth provides 185 minutes of supplementary footage. These include making-of highlights, recorded stage appearances, the complete two-person interview with Yagira and Bando, a Komori family behind-the-scenes special, set reports and cast interviews, the complete pre-finale special, cast wrap footage and television spots. A booklet is also included.

The series is presented in 16:9 1080i with Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo and Japanese subtitles for the hearing impaired on the main programme. The Blu-rays are region-free.
