Fourth-grader Fujino draws four-panel manga for her school newspaper and is accustomed to her classmates' praise. Her confidence is shaken when the paper publishes work by Kyomoto, a classmate who does not attend school. Faced with drawings that seem far beyond her own ability, Fujino eventually gives up making manga.

On graduation day, a teacher asks Fujino to deliver Kyomoto's diploma. Their first meeting brings an unexpected revelation: Kyomoto has been a devoted admirer of Fujino's work. Despite their very different personalities, the two girls are drawn together by their commitment to manga, until an event threatens to shatter everything they have built.

Kiyotaka Oshiyama directs, writes and designs the characters for this Studio Durian adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's story. Yuumi Kawai voices Fujino and Mizuki Yoshida voices Kyomoto. Music is by haruka nakamura, whose theme Light song is sung by urara.

The standard Blu-ray contains the film and a commentary featuring Oshiyama and animator Toshiyuki Inoue. Japanese Linear PCM stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 tracks are available for the film, with Japanese Linear PCM stereo commentary. This Japanese edition is listed without subtitles.
