Magic Maker: How to Make Magic in Another World follows a lifelong dream into a world that seems unable to fulfil it. A man who dies on his thirtieth birthday is reborn as Shion, the son of a minor noble family. He expects his new life to bring the magic he always wanted, only to discover that even the word is unknown to the people around him.
Shion and his older sister Marie grow up with very different interests. She loves practising swordsmanship with their father, while he prefers reading quietly indoors. When Shion asks about producing fire, water, wind or light from nothing, his educated father cannot offer an answer. His disappointment becomes so pronounced that Marie turns to their childhood friend Rose for help. An unexplained phenomenon at a lake then gives him something real to investigate. If magic does not yet exist, perhaps he can create it himself.
Adapted from Kazuki Kaburagi's fantasy novels, the series is directed by Kazuomi Koga and animated by Studio DEEN, with series composition by Keiichiro Ochi and character designs by Takayuki Noguchi. Megumi Han voices Shion, Ai Kakuma plays Marie and Sora Amamiya plays Rose, supported by Yu Serizawa, Aoi Koga and Naoya Miyase.
The second Blu-ray box contains episodes 7-12, with approximately 141 minutes of the series on one region-free disc. A cast commentary accompanies the final episode, and a collection of promotional videos and commercials is included. The main programme features Japanese Linear PCM audio without subtitles.
