Mariko Tone Golden Best CD
刀根麻里子/ゴールデン☆ベスト
The Golden Best series, a joint project by six record companies, presents its Tokuma Japan selection for Mariko Tone. A carefully chosen collection revisits the singer who won lasting support among anime fans when her music became an opening theme for the hugely popular Cat’s Eye.
The original release introduction also looks beyond her singing career, which had paused after 1993. In July 2002 she opened Dining & Gallery Imajin in Hakusan, Tokyo, aiming to create a place where children with and without disabilities, older people and younger people could meet across social barriers. Her children’s book Itsumo Kokoro ni Yajirobee, published seven years before this album, also led to speaking engagements.
