Mars Zero no Kakumei Blu-ray Box
TV ドラマ マルス-ゼロの革命- Blu-ray BOX
Shunsuke Michieda stars in his first prime-time serial drama. A mysterious hero for a new era is born as struggling high-school students tear down the corrupt adult world in an exhilarating youth coup suspense story.
A charismatic, enigmatic transfer student and six struggling high-school students form the video collective MARS, taking on a corrupt adult society. Michieda enters new territory, dyeing his hair blond for the first time in his life to play a charismatic dark hero who challenges the adult world. The familiar, fresh-faced “Micchi” transforms into the dark and mysterious Zero.
Starring Shunsuke Michieda, this entirely original work comes from popular screenwriter Shogo Muto. Seven young people, led by the mysterious, charismatic transfer student Zero, rebel against the corrupt adult world in an unprecedented youth “coup” suspense drama. Experience this ensemble portrait of young people living in the Reiwa era on Blu-ray and DVD.
Early one morning on a main road, third-year Omei Gakuen High School student Konichi Aizawa (Rihito Itagaki) murmurs, “Goodbye… MARS,” and starts walking toward the middle of the road. A mysterious young man dressed entirely in white (Shunsuke Michieda) appears from nowhere. Picking up Konichi’s smartphone, he starts filming without permission. “You’re about to die, aren’t you?” “Please give your final message.” Konichi is bewildered by the young man’s calm filming. In the end, he cannot go through with dying, and the young man disappears.
Soon after arriving at school, Konichi is being bullied when the same young man appears again. His name is Zero Mishima, a 19-year-old transfer student who has arrived outside the usual school calendar. Simply walking with this tall, blond newcomer attracts attention, but Zero also films on his smartphone and threatens to reveal that morning’s events to school counsellor Mori (Toru Nomaguchi) and others. He proposes a wager: “If I can solve the problems you’re facing, you’ll do anything I say. If I can’t, I’ll do anything you say.”
Konichi is overwhelmed by Zero’s unpredictable, excessively radical words and actions, but somewhere inside he hopes this person might save him, and accepts the wager. Naming Konichi “Ikon,” Zero holds out his hand and declares, “I’ll save you from this rotten world.”
Zero must solve three problems: end the bullying; recruit seven members for the video study group so that it can become an official club; and expose the sender of the threatening emails Konichi has received. The anonymous message tells him to follow instructions if he does not want his university recommendation withdrawn. Starting with recruitment, Zero selects candidates from the student list and approaches them.
Karen Takashiro (Ai Yoshikawa) watches the pair with concern. Konichi’s childhood friend, she ends up joining the video study group he founded alongside Konichi and Zero. Zero approaches members one after another: Kudaka Nihei (Yuki Inoue), a musician whose catchphrase is “That’s not rock”; Kensei Kurei (Soma Santoki), a cool former academic star; Kyoka Sakuraba (Mayuu Yokota), a soothing presence with a hearty appetite; and Kyuji Kiriyama (Yuki Izumisawa), the baseball-club member forever assigned to polishing balls. Meanwhile, the bullying ringleader Genki Sawai (Sho Nishigaki) summons Konichi and extorts money from him. When Karen asks for help, Zero rushes to Konichi’s side…!
