Melody to Highway mixed by DJ Kazu CD
メロディとハイウェイ mixed by DJ和
Melody to Highway brings together much-loved Japanese songs from the 1970s and 1980s in an uninterrupted mix by DJ Kazu. Released alongside Melody to Midnight as the thirty-ninth and fortieth entries in his mix-CD series, the pair follows a catalogue whose combined sales passed 2.1 million copies.
Original recordings from across record labels recall a golden age of Showa music. Highway favours an upbeat programme, with songs including Dancing Hero, UFO and Mayonaka no Door -stay with me.
Comedian Tomochika, a devoted fan of Showa songs, appears on the cover. The paired jackets imagine a snack-bar hostess on and off duty. She described the selections as classics worth hearing on repeat, offering nostalgia to listeners who remember the era and fresh discoveries to younger generations.
