MIA - Mutsumi Inomata Art Collection
いのまたむつみ画集MIA
MIA traces Mutsumi Inomata's artistic world through original illustrations of cats and girls, licensed work, later drawings and rough sketches. Previously uncollected images sit beside familiar favorites in this first artbook published after the artist's death, including work she continued developing near the end of her life.
Recent digital illustrations join hand-drawn artwork, while a chronological section follows representative projects from Acrobunch in 1982 to later work. Cyber Formula illustrations and character concepts for an unpublished animation project offer further perspectives on her career.
Careful color reproduction seeks to preserve the appearance of the originals. A pearlescent cover with a red foil title complements its ribbons, lace and frilled costume, while the endpapers evoke a soft, fur-like texture. Published by Gakken, this Japanese-language collection contains 100 pages.
