Mikazuki to Neko Blu-ray

Like a crescent moon still growing towards fullness, three adults searching for their way share a life with beloved cats. Ami Uozumi’s winner of the first anan Cat Manga Award becomes a live-action film set in Kumamoto, exploring the different perspectives on life that emerge when three people and their cats make a home together.

Yumi Adachi, Kana Kurashina and Keisuke Watanabe share the leading roles as housemates of different ages and occupations. Satomi Kobayashi, Takashi Yamanaka and Ruka Ishikawa play people who mark turning points in their lives. Naho Kamimura makes her commercial feature-film directing debut and also writes the screenplay.

After meeting in the wake of the Kumamoto earthquake, bookseller Akari, psychiatrist Kanoko and clothing-shop assistant Jin discover a connection and eventually begin living together. They differ in age, work and circumstances, but all love cats. Akari likes their present, unconventional way of life best of all. Jin feels that being with the other two is the most normal his life has ever been. Kanoko, initially reluctant to share a home, now feels deeply settled. Their shared life with the cats brings comfort and becomes an emotional refuge for each of them.

The special booklet includes recipes for dishes seen in the film and a message from Kamimura. The Blu-ray also features exclusive bonus footage, including a making-of film, event appearances and a trailer collection.
