Missing follows a mother whose search for her young daughter becomes an ordeal played out under public scrutiny. Three months after Miu disappears, Saori refuses to give up, even as attention fades and her relationship with her husband Yutaka grows increasingly strained. Local reporter Sunada is one of the few people still covering the case.
When people discover that Saori attended an idol concert on the night of the disappearance, online accusations turn her grief into a spectacle. Sunada faces pressure from his television station to draw attention to Saori and her brother, while she clings to a simple wish: to see her daughter again. Satomi Ishihara leads Keisuke Yoshida's Japanese drama, alongside Munetaka Aoki and Tomoya Nakamura.
This deluxe edition pairs the 118-minute film on Blu-ray with 91 minutes of supplementary material on DVD, including making-of footage, interviews, recorded cast appearances and featurettes. Ishihara and Yoshida also discuss the film in an audio commentary.
The Blu-ray provides Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and stereo sound, stereo audiodescription and Japanese accessibility subtitles. The commentary is Japanese stereo without subtitles. The Blu-ray is region-free; the supplementary DVD is Region 2 and uses Dolby Digital stereo.
