Mister Ajikko Manpuku Teishoku Original Soundtrack Clear Red Vinyl LP

Mister Ajikko Manpuku Teishoku reissues the original soundtrack album for the 1987 television anime on clear red vinyl. It follows the programme of the original LP K28G-7379 and CD K32X-7125, released on June 21, 1988, rather than the expanded 2004 CD with eight additional tracks.

Daisuke Terasawa's cooking manga ran in Weekly Shonen Magazine from autumn 1986 to late 1989 and became a television anime broadcast from October 1987 to September 1989. This was the series' only soundtrack album, combining music, image songs, eyecatches, previews and short dramatic scenes under the composition, scripting and direction of anime director Yasuhiro Imagawa.

Wataru Kuniyasu, also known as a songwriter for Akina Nakamori's Gypsy Queen, composed and sang the opening Renaissance Jounetsu and ending Kokoro no Photograph, with lyrics by Ikki Matsumoto and arrangements by Tatsumi Yano. Comedy-song specialists Masayuki Yamamoto and Tatsuo Kamon also contributed to the programme.

Daito Fujita handled the main background music and arrangements, while Terasawa wrote lyrics for two pieces. Tomohiro Nishimura participates as a singer and arranger. Voice cast members Minami Takayama, Yoko Kawanami, Miki Narahashi, Hirotaka Suzuoki and Kenyu Horiuchi appear in the mini-dramas and chorus work, preserving the show's comic, dramatic approach to cooking contests.
