Monster Hunter Rise Official Design Works explores Kamura Village and the world beyond it through development artwork and setting notes. CG imagery and illustrations from the Rampage scroll lead into the village's people, facilities and quest locations.
Monster ecology and an evolutionary tree accompany designs for nineteen newly introduced monsters. Further sections examine hunter weapons and armor, Palico and Palamute equipment, endemic life, local products and the village's visual motifs and lettering.
The story section follows Magnamalo and the Rampage, with records of scattered messages and a chart of village relationships. Interviews with producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Yasunori Ichinose add perspectives on development and monster creation. Written by the Nintendo Dream editorial department, this Japanese-language Ambit publication contains 416 pages and is distributed by Tokuma Shoten.
