Monthly Comic Beam January 2026 - Zoufu no Hanataba / Blood Friend

Two new horror series share the covers of Monthly Comic Beam's January 2026 issue. ISHIDA UMI's Zoufu no Hanataba depicts an unsettling summer encounter, while Rei Mikamoto's Blood Friend brings a new violent horror story from the creator of Bloody Delinquent Girl Chainsaw. Their simultaneous launches anchor this substantial 712-page edition.

The magazine also begins its 30th-anniversary project of thirty short stories across one year. The opening contributions are Tegaki Log, involving an assassination assignment and an emotionless humanoid AI, and Ojou-sama wa BL ga Yomitai. Three ongoing works conclude: Pukuchorari Familia, Record Daisuki Shougakusei Kakeru, and Hamushi no Hertz. This Japanese-language January issue combines ambitious new beginnings, anniversary fiction, and major finales, and was released on December 12, 2025.
