Would you promise pretend love for the sake of real romance? A romantic comedy about an introverted boy and an outgoing gyaru becomes a television anime.

Unremarkable high-school student Jiro Yakuin finds himself living with his classmate Akari Watanabe, a beautiful gyaru he would never normally have anything to do with. They have been paired for their school’s marriage practical.

Their first impressions of each other could not be worse. An introvert and an extrovert hardly seem a match, and the whole situation is overwhelming. Between awkward mishaps after a bath and unexpected moments in close quarters, Jiro tries to keep his mind off it, but struggles.

“Hey, why don’t we really give this pretend-married thing a proper try?” Jiro and Akari each have someone else they like. To earn the right to exchange partners, they decide to take their roles as a married couple seriously.

Yet their bittersweet shared life gradually makes them more aware of each other, and they begin to discover one another’s appeal. The pretend marriage between a gyaru and an unpopular boy begins, bringing even more surprises than dating.

The edition features an illustrated outer box and a special booklet with newly drawn manga. Extras include textless opening and ending sequences and the first part of the special programme Moso Ijo, Genjitsu Miman.
