Longing for Home

Morning KC Longing for Home Vol. 3 is an official Japanese paper manga volume by Yoshihiro Yamada, published by Kodansha under the Morning KC label.

A great cold wave strikes, inflicting devastating damage and resetting the world. Waking from artificial hibernation after 500 years, Taro Maizuru has lost everything: his beloved family and his fortune alike. Clawing his way back from the depths of despair, he sets out for his homeland, Japan, in search of an ideal life and a reason to live. A great journey retracing the history of humanity and civilization. Humanity, this is your future! After losing Mito in a fierce battle with the ferocious beast Enlil, Taro accompanies Paru on his return home. An uncle and his family have survived in the frozen land. Though an uninvited guest, Taro becomes embroiled in a "great festival" on which the village's very survival depends. Unfamiliar, primitive customs toy with Taro's fate! Taro is given as a gift to the eastern village, which is more developed than the western and central villages. Agriculture is practiced here, and the population is large. Slaves serve the chief's family through hard labor. Men toil fruitlessly, while a young female slave leader vows revenge. They want to remain human. They want to become human. Hoping to save them, Taro eventually discovers the wellspring of power!
