Muramasa Basiscape Records Game Music

The original soundtrack to Muramasa arrives with the splendour of the Japanese action RPG that also reached North America. Its painstaking graphics and exhilarating combat earned the game a place in Famitsu's Gold Hall of Fame.

Basiscape, known for its game and anime music, brings further colour to this finely crafted world. Under the sound production of Hitoshi Sakimoto, known for Final Fantasy Tactics, the main theme combines his orchestral style with Japanese musical elements to create a magnificent, weighty sound. The music includes both the stage themes and their battle versions, reflecting the game's real-time musical transitions.

The player follows Kisuke or Momohime through a chaotic Edo-period world filled with supernatural creatures, advancing with elegant swordplay. The game's vividly coloured graphics also appear throughout the art booklet, making the soundtrack an experience for the eyes as well as the ears.
