My Happy Marriage Anime

Will this marriage be an invitation to the underworld, or a miracle of good fortune?

With more than seven million copies in circulation, including comics and e-books, My Happy Marriage brings its unusual Cinderella story, woven from love and supernatural gifts, to television animation.

The original novel, written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, has been published under Fujimi L Bunko since 2019. Director Yudai Kubota previously served as assistant director on ID:INVADED and worked on the ending animation for Made in Abyss.

Story Born into a prominent family, Miyo lost her mother at an early age and grew up mistreated by her stepmother and younger half-sister. When she is ordered to marry, her intended husband is Kiyoka, a young soldier rumoured to be cold and merciless. Numerous prospective brides are said to have fled his household without lasting even three days.

Expecting to be cut down, Miyo knocks on the Kudo family's gate. The person who appears before her is a handsome man with pale colouring. Though he treats her harshly at their first meeting, she cannot return to her family home. As she cooks for him day after day, she and Kiyoka gradually begin to open their hearts to one another.
