They could not become heroes, yet they still want to save someone. My Hero Academia: Vigilantes tells a grounded story of growth through the lives of unlicensed heroes.

The official spin-off of My Hero Academia, the worldwide phenomenon serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump for ten years, receives its long-awaited anime adaptation. Originally serialised in Shonen Jump+, this story takes place several years before My Hero Academia.

In a superhuman society where roughly eighty percent of the world’s population possesses supernatural abilities, the chosen professionals called heroes protect people from accidents, disasters and villains who misuse their Quirks. Yet there are also people who were never chosen, but cannot walk past someone in need of help. This is the story of those illegal heroes: the Vigilantes.

Koichi Haimawari is an unremarkable university student who once admired heroes but abandoned his dream. His secret pleasure is wandering the streets dressed as All Might, playing at being a professional hero while helping people.

His ordinary life changes when he meets Pop Step, a self-proclaimed idol who performs unauthorised impromptu concerts, and Knuckleduster, a mysterious masked man who describes himself as a cleaner specialising in scum. Koichi is drawn into their activities as Vigilantes.

Are these people who save others outside the law criminals disturbing the peace, or a vigilante group standing for justice? The story of the illegal heroes begins!
