My Treasure: Watashi no Takaramono Blu-ray Box

Wakana Matsumoto stars in My Treasure, an original drama about a woman who decides to protect her child through a lie that entangles three lives. Miwa’s marriage to Hiroki has grown cold, and she is exhausted by the false smiles she wears to conceal her unhappiness. Seeing her close friend Makoto with her son makes her wonder whether having a child could change her own life, but Hiroki dismisses the conversation and reacts with irritation.

A visit to a library she once loved brings an unexpected reunion with her childhood friend Ryo Fuyutsuki. Their renewed connection awakens feelings Miwa had long suppressed. When she becomes pregnant by the man she loves, she chooses to present the baby as her husband’s child. What she sees as a way to safeguard her precious treasure forces Miwa, Hiroki and Ryo into a painful conflict between love, responsibility and deception.

Matsumoto is joined by Kei Tanaka and Tatsuya Fukazawa, with Honami Sato, Yuri Tsunematsu, Yumi Takigawa and Kazuki Kitamura. Takayuki Ichikawa writes the screenplay, Shuichiro Fukuhiro and Nohei Ueda compose the music, and Emi Noda performs the theme song “Asu.” Produced by Reiko Misao for Fuji Television with production cooperation from FILM, the drama follows the consequences of Miwa’s decision rather than offering an easy division between innocence and guilt.

The box contains three Blu-ray discs with 468 minutes of main programme and a fourth Blu-ray with 66 minutes of extras. The supplements include making-of footage and the related original story Boku no Takaramono. Japanese linear PCM 2.0 stereo audio accompanies the programme, with Japanese subtitles provided for the main episodes.
