Witch Hat Atelier cutting edge Anime Music

Despite being completely unknown, singer-songwriter Nakamura Hak was chosen to perform the ending music for the anime adaptation of Witch Hat Atelier, the hit manga with over 7.5 million copies in circulation. His extraordinary singing and songwriting led to the exceptional decision to use every song he submitted as an ending theme.

As on his debut EP Shiro wa Yume, every recording is an uncorrected, unedited single take of his voice and the acoustic guitar he plays at the same time. These are true live recordings, carrying a taut atmosphere, piercing breaths, friction and wavering movement. Rather than a fixed, unchanging sound recording, this is music that is born anew each time it is played: memory rather than mere record.

The anime versions were recorded separately in their own single takes; they are individual performances, rather than edits of the full-length recordings.
