Nande Watashi ga Kamisekkyou Blu-ray Box

At 28, Shizuka Urumi reluctantly becomes a high-school teacher to escape unemployment. She plans to avoid trouble and keep her distance, but her students' problems keep drawing her in. Before long, she is delivering the very lectures she never wanted to give, all while wondering why she has been left to deal with everything.

The school drama follows teachers caught between what they really think and what they are expected to say, confronting compliance rules, workplace harassment and demanding parents. Its humour grows out of that uneasy gap between private frustration and public responsibility, as Shizuka finds herself unable to remain the uninvolved teacher she intended to be.

Alice Hirose leads the cast with Shota Watanabe of Snow Man, Sae Okazaki, Kayo Noro, Keiko Horiuchi and Mirai Shida. The ensemble also features Hana Toyoshima, Rintaro Mizusawa, Asahi Seino, Miu Arai, Jinsei Hamura, Yuta Hayashi, Kohaku Shida, Haruto Yoshida, Reiyo Matsumoto and Ryunosuke Shimamura, alongside Shinya Kote, Atsushi Ito and Yoshino Kimura.

Written by Okura, the series features music by Masaru Yokoyama and the theme song "Aria" by AiNA THE END. Hidemi Uchida, Seiichi Nagumo and Yushi Naeshiro direct, with Tetsuhiro Ogino as chief producer and Mami Fujimori and Kaori Shiraishi producing. Nippon TV produces the drama with production support from AX-ON.

The four-disc Blu-ray box contains 447 minutes of the main series across three discs and a separate 114-minute making-of disc, together with a booklet. Main-program audio is Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo, with Japanese subtitles on the main episodes.
