Nemurubaka Deluxe Edition Blu-ray

Yumi Irisu and her senior, Ruka Kujirai, share a room in a women's university dormitory. Yumi drifts through her days without a particular ambition, working part-time in a second-hand bookshop. Ruka is constantly short of money but pursues her dream as the guitarist and singer of the indie band Peat Moss. Cheap drinks, old television dramas and an easy companionship give their days a comforting rhythm, until a major record company contacts Ruka and changes the balance of their lives.

Shiori Kubo and Yuna Taira lead this coming-of-age adaptation of Masakazu Ishiguro's manga, directed by Yugo Sakamoto. The supporting cast includes Keito Tsuna, Kohei Higuchi, Usagi of Long Coat Daddy, Gima of the dadadadys, Yuki Takao, Dai Hasegawa, Kohaku Shida, Masayuki Ino, Norihisa Yamashita, Shingo Mizusawa and Yu Yoshizawa. The story explores the mixture of comfort and uncertainty that comes with university life and the search for an individual voice.

The deluxe edition contains the 106-minute film and a separate Blu-ray of supplements. These include a making-of documentary, deleted and alternate scenes, the March 4, 2025 premiere stage greeting, two March 22, 2025 release-event stage greetings, music videos for Nemurubaka and Haruiro, and the in-film live performances Nonai Noise and You more. Teaser and full trailers, thirty- and fifteen-second spots and the fictional web advertisement from the film are also included. Nabiko guides the supplementary disc's menus.

Three full-film commentaries pair director Sakamoto with Kubo and Taira; Tsuna and Higuchi; and the Peat Moss performers Gima, Hasegawa and Takao. The Japanese main soundtrack is available in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and Linear PCM stereo, while the commentaries and Japanese audio-description track use DTS stereo. Accessible Japanese subtitles are provided. A box newly illustrated by Ishiguro, a 52-page memorial photo album of photographs from the production and a sticker featuring the box illustration complete the set.
