NO.6 - toi8 Design & Artworks Expanded Edition revisits the visual world of Shion and Nezumi through the illustrator's color artwork, original character concepts and concept designs for the television anime. Building on the collection first published in 2012, this expanded edition marks fifteen years since the anime's original broadcast.
An additional 32 pages introduce more than thirty illustrations, including artwork for Noitamina Shop, cover and interior illustrations for NO.6 Reunion, and artwork created for the paperback editions' wraparound bands. Both the front and back covers feature newly drawn illustrations.
In her accompanying commentary, original author Atsuko Asano reflects on how toi8 portrays Shion and Nezumi as beautiful and mysterious, strong yet fragile. Though almost dreamlike, the two remain vividly real to her, prompting questions about what lies beyond their gaze, the words or songs they might voice, and what their hands might reach for.
