Oishii Kyushoku Road to Ikameshi Blu-ray

Onward to Hakodate for a delicious battle at the summit. Set in the 1980s, Oishii Kyushoku has followed junior-high teacher Yukio Amarida's tireless love of school lunches. After three television seasons and two theatrical films, including the October 2023 broadcast of season 3, the increasingly popular food drama returns to the screen. Moving to Hakodate as the era enters Heisei, it brings tears, laughter and appetite in a school-lunch spectacular for all ages.

Hayato Ichihara returns as the unwavering Amarida. Yuno Ohara plays the teacher he mentors, and Taiki Tazawa plays the student food rival who thoroughly defeats him. Familiar performers Eishin, Maiko Ito, Naomasa Musaka, Atsuko Takahata and Kazuki Kosakai return, with Ken Ishiguro newly joining them.

In winter 1989, Amarida arrives in northern Japan with a secret goal: to taste that particular dish. More than a year into his posting, it still has not appeared on the menu. He keeps coming to school for lunch, quietly competing every day with rival Ken Tsuburai. Meanwhile, new teacher Ai Hirukawa admires him and hopes to be close to him. Shinobukawa Junior High is selected as a model school for finishing school lunches, but the town plans to use it politically before its mayoral election. Sensing something wrong, Amarida stands up to protect delicious school lunches, as his ultimate confrontation with that dish approaches.
