A slightly unusual cross-cultural romance begins on a southern island, as Teru’s Okinawan life fills with misunderstandings. OKITSURA brings together its two charming heroines, Hina Kyan, nicknamed Hina, and Kana Higa, nicknamed Kana, while portraying everyday Okinawan experiences, local speech, ways of thinking and culture with an authentic touch.

Takeo Otsuka, Akari Kito and Fairouz Ai lead the voice cast, joined by Okinawan performers including Shino Shimoji, Kentaro Kumagai and Shugo Nakamura. The opening theme Dai Dai Daisuki is performed by HY, the band from Uruma City, where the story is set.

After transferring to a school in Okinawa, Teruaki Nakamura falls for his classmate Kyan. He thinks his dream high-school life is about to begin, only to discover that he cannot understand a word of her Uchinaaguchi dialect. Higa is always there to translate and help him, but she secretly has a crush on Teru herself. On an island so different from Tokyo, an unexpected cross-cultural love story unfolds.

Volume 2 contains episodes seven to twelve and a collection of creditless endings. Episode nine includes commentary by Takeo Otsuka, Akari Kito and Shino Shimoji; episode eleven features Yuko Gibu, Etsuko Kozakura and Tarusuke Shingaki.

A three-sided case newly illustrated by the original manga creator surrounds a newly illustrated anime inner jacket. The sixteen-page booklet includes an interview with chief director Shin Itagaki, episode synopses, Okinawa notes and character introductions. Three large postcards and Okinawan-dialect stickers accompany an adapted version of the Uruma City filming-location map, originally issued by the city’s Tourism and Events Division.
