Onipan! Blu-ray Volume 2

In a world where humans and oni live together, three young oni work earnestly to improve their people's reputation. Their story comes to Blu-ray in Onipan! Volume 2.

The key to their adventure is the oni's traditional shorts! Tsutsuji, a red oni girl, Himawari, a yellow oni girl, and Tsuyukusa, a blue oni girl, leave the island of Onigashima where they were born and raised and transfer to a junior high school in Tokyo. With their mission to improve the image of oni, they transform using the shorts handed down among their people, known as onipan, and throw themselves into helping others, revitalising the town, club activities and school events.

As they face a variety of challenges, bonds grow through their contact with townspeople and classmates. Friendships with the descendants of their old adversaries Momotaro and Issun-boshi, and the gradual growth of the three girls, have attracted attention across generations, from children to adults.

The accompanying audio commentary brings together the voices of the three young oni, making their voice-acting debuts in this series. Watching along, they explain scenes, share behind-the-scenes stories and remember events from the production. These lavish, exclusive commentaries offer stories that can be heard only here.

WIT STUDIO presents a completely original television anime, with newly illustrated jacket artwork prepared for the release. Its creation brings together the Onipan! Project, WIT STUDIO, known for SPY x FAMILY and Ranking of Kings, and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions.

Descendants of the familiar Japanese folk tales also appear: Momo Momozono, descended from Momotaro, and Noriko Issun, descended from Issun-boshi. Joining them is Kuma, a mascot whose true identity is shrouded in mystery. Look out for the playful use of objects and ideas from the folk tales, which become important parts of the story.

The idea that oni are villains is already out of date. These days, they get along very well with humans, although their ancestors' mischief can still lead to misunderstandings and teasing. After transferring from Onigashima to a Tokyo junior high school, the three young oni help people, breathe new life into the town, join school events and sometimes even take part in idol activities!

The key item is the traditional shorts of the oni people: onipan! What powers could they contain, or perhaps they contain none at all? With descendants of Momotaro and Issun-boshi also appearing, the young oni are kept very busy. They sometimes make mistakes and feel discouraged, but today, too, they keep doing their best without giving up.

A special booklet accompanies the newly illustrated package. Product specifications may change without notice.
