Oretachi Bad Barbers Blu-ray Box

Ayumu Nakajima and Takuya Kusakawa star together for the first time in an unconventional action comedy set in a barbershop. Writer and director Yugo Sakamoto teams up with TV Tokyo once again: “We’ll straighten out your life for three million yen.” These underground barbers take on any problem that cannot be resolved in ordinary society, put their clients’ troubled lives back in order, and cut their hair. Today, the unusual shop run by two awkward men sees someone else make a fresh start.

Sakamoto, director of the passionately followed Baby Assassins series and the hit film Nemurubaka, reunites with TV Tokyo for their second collaboration following the much-discussed 2024 series Baby Assassins Everyday! Together they create a new kind of barber action comedy.

Nakajima plays Ayumu Higurashi, a former hairstylist with no savings and nowhere to go: powerless, but warmhearted. Known for numerous films and dramas, he has recently attracted attention for his roles in NHK’s Anpan and Fuji TV’s Ai no, Gakko. Kusakawa plays Tsukasa Tsukishiro, the cool, coldhearted proprietor who runs the barbershop alone. Returning for his second Sakamoto production after Baby Assassins Everyday!, he again takes on demanding action scenes.

The retro Tsukishiro barbershop stands quietly in a rural town. It appears ordinary, but its owner has another face. By day he is a barber; behind the scenes, he uses force to resolve the troubles his customers bring him when the respectable world cannot help. For three million yen, he puts their lives in order and cuts their hair.

A chance turn of events brings Higurashi to live and work at the shop. He and Tsukishiro constantly quarrel, yet share meals and a life together, awkwardly taking on a succession of requests.

The collection brings together all twelve episodes with a booklet. Bonus footage includes the making of Oretachi Bad Barbers and a feature in which Nakajima and Kusakawa sit down for a meal together.
