Passepied continues its fifteenth-anniversary year with Caligula, both a sequel and a reverse side to Acharaka. Arriving six months after that album, this seven-song release joins its predecessor's eight tracks to make fifteen, another playful reflection of the anniversary. The single 2009 is included.
Keyboardist Haneda Narita explains that separating Acharaka and Caligula lets the band reveal its many facets: light and shade, individuality and harmony. Rather than presenting everything at once, the two albums allow listeners to take in those different sides gradually.
