Perfect Blue 4K Remaster Standard Edition Blu-ray

Perfect Blue 4K Remaster Standard Edition Blu-ray revisits Satoshi Kon's directorial debut in a high-definition presentation drawn from the film's 4K remaster. Based on Yoshikazu Takeuchi's novel, this psychological thriller features original character concepts by manga artist Hisashi Eguchi and animation by Madhouse.

After leaving her idol group, Mima begins a new career as an actress. The increasingly provocative photographic work and television roles offered to her leave her unsettled, pulling her away from the image she once presented to her fans. When people connected to her new life become the targets of a series of murders, her attempt to move forward takes a frightening turn.

Junko Iwao voices Mima, with Rica Matsumoto as Rumi, Shinpachi Tsuji as Tadokoro and Masaaki Okura as Uchida. Sadayuki Murai's screenplay and Masahiro Ikumi's music support Kon's first feature before his later films Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika.

The disc includes a Perfect Blue masterclass with Satoshi Kon, a promotional film edited by the director and the original theatrical trailer. The promotional film and trailer are presented from their 4K-remastered versions. Approximately 81 minutes of feature content and 130 minutes of supplements are included.

This is a standard 1080p Blu-ray, not an Ultra HD disc. The feature is presented at 1.85:1 with Japanese Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and Linear PCM stereo audio; some supplementary material is in mono and 1080i. No subtitles are included.
