PinocchioP UNDERWORLD asks whether the world around us is heaven or hell. In an age where pleasure can be manufactured and thought quietly displaced, his seventh album insists on questioning, hesitating and thinking amid desire and despair. It arrives around two and a half years after his previous full album.
Turning away from the minimal approach of META, freer, sharper sounds depict a chaotic world. Fujimi Gokko faces the sadness of disguising reality's cruelty, while T-shi no Hanashi o Shinjiru na considers the danger of blind belief. Even in a hellish world, the album holds on to humanity and the love of small, ordinary days, like a prayer that is also an act of resistance.
Twelve songs include Cho Shujinko and Ai Zokusei. Oguchi's original jacket illustration contrasts the innocent play of PinocchioP's character Aimaina with the infernal world surrounding her.
