A lively, affectionate life together with your laid-back childhood friend

Spring. The new school term has begun, and the protagonist makes a brilliant start in his new class—until his homeroom teacher suddenly calls him in after school.

Worried that he has done something wrong, he learns that his childhood friend Ayano Sumeragi, who began living alone this spring, has not come to school even once.

At his teacher's request, the protagonist reluctantly visits Ayano's home. What he finds is his childhood friend living an exceedingly idle life.

Ayano was so absorbed in her games that she had not even realized the school term had started. Naturally, her mother scolds her and sets conditions for her to continue living alone.

There are two conditions: score at least 90 in every subject on the next test, and never arrive late.

Ayano is crushed, convinced it is hopeless.

Although he thinks she brought it on herself, the protagonist feels a little sorry for her and offers to help. She asks him to live with her, teach her while they study, and wake her up every morning.

“Please! You're the only person I can ask to do this!”

And so life together with his idle, game-loving childhood friend begins.

Ayano Sumeragi

The protagonist's childhood friend is a hopeless otaku.

She likes cute girls—but only fictional, two-dimensional ones.

At school, she hides her otaku interests and behaves like an ordinary girl around everyone. Even her close friends do not seem to have found her out.

She puts on an act at school, but perhaps in reaction to that, she is completely idle at home.

It is an everyday occurrence for her to lounge around in a baggy T-shirt. When it is cold, she puts on a padded dotera jacket.

“I'm pretty good—just what you'd expect from me!”
