What is Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon Chronicles?

This physical collection brings together the two games in the Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon series: 2D side-scrolling action games with nostalgic yet fresh graphics, portraying an elegant, solemn world in an 8-bit style.

Play as Zangetsu, an exorcist from the East who hates demons and alchemists, and challenge a demonic castle where all manner of monsters lurk.

Recruit people Zangetsu meets during the story to increase the number of playable characters. Switching between your growing roster and making use of their individual traits is the key to success.

The series also unfolds an epic story composed of multiple scenarios supervised by IGA, Koji Igarashi.

The first Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is the 8-bit-style title promised during the 2015 Kickstarter campaign for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Story

There once was a man upon whom a demon had placed the curse of the moon.

That man's name was Zangetsu.

Clad in crimson and with burning eyes, he traveled from darkness to darkness, seeking to defeat the demon that cursed him and cut down every demon...

One night, he senses the presence of a great demon.

Destroy all demons...

In the dim moonlight, the man flourishes his blade.

At the same time, the Church foresees the appearance of a demonic tower and sends an exorcist to the land.

Dominique, an emissary of the Church.

Knowing Zangetsu, she rushes through the dark night to join him, concealing intentions that differ from those of the Church...

Recruit allies to strengthen your fighting force!

Once the people Zangetsu meets join your party, you can switch between them at any time.

Each companion has unique attack actions and an individual health meter, so gaining allies gives you an advantage in battle.

In Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, the way you deal with companions Miriam, Alfred and Gebel changes the difficulty, amount of gameplay and even the ending.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 adds new characters Dominique, the Church's exorcist, Robert and Hachi. The playable characters from the previous game also become available.

Use your companions to find shortcuts!

Effective use of your companions' unique actions lets you take substantial shortcuts through stages.

If an ally is incapacitated, you will have to take a longer route. Switch out companions whose health is running low and save them for the moments when you really need them.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 supports simultaneous play for two people through local multiplayer with two controllers.

Combine the abilities of a diverse range of characters and enjoy working together to conquer the stages.

Conquer multiple episodes!

The story consists of several episodes.

Only one episode is initially available, but more become playable as you progress.

All of the episodes are connected, ultimately converging into one grand story.

Play in the style that suits you!

The game offers several play styles, including Veteran and Casual.

Veteran lets you play with demanding, old-school rules. Experience classic retro-game situations, such as being knocked back by an enemy attack and falling into an abyss...

Casual is recommended when you want a more relaxed experience. With features such as no knockback when hit and unlimited lives, it offers a more easygoing way to play.

Limited Edition contents

Alongside the game, the Limited Edition originally includes a setting-materials book, a two-disc soundtrack CD set and an acrylic keychain.

For this Used edition, the presence and condition of the book, soundtrack CDs, keychain, original box and other physical accessories depend on the individual item.
