Devil May Cry Capcom

Devil May Cry HD Collection comes to PlayStation 4

The collection containing the first three entries in the popular stylish action series arrives on PlayStation 4 with higher resolution and a higher frame rate. Its attractive price is another reason to take notice.

What is Devil May Cry?

At the time of the original announcement, the Devil May Cry series had shipped more than sixteen million copies worldwide. Its exhilarating stylish action and Dante, the devil hunter descended from a legendary demon, have made it a popular series.

Devil May Cry – originally released in August 2001

There was a man whom demons feared. The first game introduces Dante, the powerful devil hunter descended from the legendary dark knight.

The essentials of the series are already present: Dante's distinctive character, the Stylish Rank earned by defeating enemies with greater flair, and Devil Trigger, which transforms him into a powerful demon after filling a gauge. His swordplay, gun action and elegant combinations capture the series' essence from its very first entry.

One day, the mysterious Trish asks Dante to defeat Mundus, the emperor of the demon world who is returning to power. Mundus was sealed by Dante's father, the dark knight Sparda, and was also the mastermind behind the deaths of Dante's family.

Devil May Cry 2 – originally released in January 2003

Dance with the devil. Set long after the first game, the sequel makes Dante's action even more varied and spectacular.

Alongside power-focused Dante, you can play the story of his speed-focused partner Lucia. Their differing abilities and the tuning offered by Devil Hearts introduce gameplay that foreshadows the Style Change system of Devil May Cry 3.

Bloody Palace, the mode in which you continue challenging formidable enemies, also makes its first appearance here.

At Lucia's invitation, Dante visits Dumary Island and meets her mother, Matier. A man named Arius plans to revive Argosax, the conqueror once sealed by Sparda. Dante is asked to help protect the island from Arius and prevent Argosax's return.

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition – originally released in February 2006

Let's get wild. This entry tells a story set before the first game and introduces Dante's twin elder brother, Vergil.

Style Change lets players choose actions suited to their preferences, including speed, swordplay, gunfire and defence. Styles include the close-combat Swordmaster and firearms-focused Gunslinger.

The enhanced Special Edition included here lets you play as Vergil and adds Bloody Palace, substantially increasing the available play content.

The mysterious Arkham appears before Dante, delivering an invitation from Vergil. At the same time, an enormous tower rises in the city: a passage connecting the human and demon worlds, revived by Vergil himself. Dante heads for its summit to settle matters with his brother.

Remaster and original bonus information

This collection presents previously released games in high definition. Their game content is the same as in the earlier releases. Some scenes, including certain event movies, are not presented in HD.
