The definitive board game: a new Dokapon adventure

Dokapon UP! is the latest entry in Dokapon, a party board-game series with RPG elements that has appeared on many home consoles. It unfolds in the lively world of Utawarerumono.

The stages, items and other elements are all designed around the Utawarerumono world.

Characters from the Utawarerumono series appear not only as playable characters, but also throughout the adventure sections, where they develop the story.

The game offers a fully voiced main story in Story mode and Offline Match, which friends can enjoy together at home as in earlier entries.

Online Match is also added for the first time in a home-console Dokapon game, allowing many users to play together.

Story mode

A single-player mode in which you enjoy a fully voiced main story written specifically for this game.

Progress through the story alongside Haku and clear its stages.

The conditions for clearing each stage differ, and your objectives change as events advance. Check them as you continue through the story.

Offline Match and Online Match

Players can compete against each other offline or online.

Up to four players can compete, with computer-controlled participants replacing players when appropriate.

Detailed settings include the final objective, clear conditions and map selection. Tailor each match to the players' circumstances.

Stamps are provided as a communication tool in online matches. Use the various stamps to make play more enjoyable.

How the game progresses

The players can decide which conditions will determine victory.

Depending on the space where you stop, you may fight beasts or other players, govern villages, shop or obtain treasure chests, all while working towards the goal that fulfils the victory conditions.

There are many ways to enjoy play, including cooperating with others or obstructing them.

Characters and skills

The game includes RPG elements. Defeating beasts and other enemies allows characters to level up, improve their statistics and learn skills.

Each character learns different skills. Using those skills to shape your battles and actions can give you an advantage.

The field

Take one action per turn: spin the roulette and advance by the number of spaces it shows.

A variety of events occur on the spaces, including battles with beasts, traps, obtaining items and character events.

Items you possess can restore HP, help you move or inflict damage on an opponent.

Combat

Depending on the space where you stop, a battle may begin against a monster or another player.

At the start of combat, the first and second turns are determined randomly.

Once the attacker and defender are decided, each chooses a combat action. The battle continues until one side wins.

Combat actions have different matchups: Defence is effective against Attack, Trump Card against Special Move, and Defence Mastery against Attack Mastery.

Winning a battle earns experience, which can lead to levels and skills. You can also take an opposing player's assets or items.

The original Premium Edition features special packaging with an illustration drawn specifically for this edition.

The Dokapon UP! Mugen no Roulette visual book contains characters and illustrations created for the game.

Two acrylic keyrings, featuring Haku and Kuon, use newly drawn artwork.

The original soundtrack is a music CD containing tracks heard in the game.

The physical extras and their completeness depend on the individual Used copy.
