Dragon Quest Builders lets you make items and towns using everything you can see as materials. It combines sandbox play with the RPG elements unique to Dragon Quest.

Reclaim Alefgard and rebuild it

Materials for creating things can be collected from all kinds of places. Use the weapon in your hands to smash walls, ground and other parts of the landscape, gathering the materials you need.

The world of Alefgard contains multiple continents, and your protagonist's activities begin in the region of Cantlin. Each area contains the site of a town that flourished in peaceful times, providing a goal for your adventure. Revive the towns one after another and restore light to Alefgard, now shrouded in darkness.

Protagonists designed by Akira Toriyama

One of Dragon Quest's charms is its characters drawn by Akira Toriyama. This game offers two protagonists—a boy and a girl—designed by Toriyama, letting you choose the one you prefer. Explore the world with their mysterious power to create items and towns.

Collect, craft and build

To revive the abandoned world, your protagonist sets out to build towns. First, break up terrain and defeat monsters to collect materials. Next, use those materials to craft items. Then place the items to construct buildings. These three processes—collecting, crafting and building—form the basics of play.

Battle familiar Dragon Quest monsters

Some places you visit during your adventures are dangerous areas inhabited by monsters. The game offers many distinctive ways to approach battles against them.
