The cutting edge of fighting games
Created to bring a new direction to competitive fighting games, this title broadens the range of players while retaining the deep gameplay characteristic of Guilty Gear. Bold mechanics that break through the boundaries at the edge of the stage join carefully designed systems to create the heated exchanges of prediction and counterplay unique to fighting games.
Long-standing rivalries reach their conclusion
Guilty Gear's rich story has developed over more than 20 years. The many intertwined rivalries finally reach their conclusion. What shocking truth will be revealed?
Character profiles
Sol Badguy
A highly aggressive striker who overpowers opponents with forceful attacks.
Rough around the edges and averse to making an effort, Sol says little beyond the bare minimum. He is poor at explaining himself or expressing his feelings, often showing what he means through forceful actions and attitudes rather than words. People generally consider him self-centred and violent, but some companions who travel with him accept him as someone whose nature they simply have to live with.
Ky Kiske
An orthodox all-rounder with an excellent selection of moves.
Ky is honest and earnest in his work, his relationships and his own moral principles. He approaches everything with complete seriousness. His love of justice and determination to protect the weak are exemplary, almost to an idealised degree. On the other hand, he has tended to feel excessive dislike for those who disrupt rules and order, and that dislike has shown openly. Since becoming a king, his passion has developed into a broader outlook, enabling him to consider matters from more perspectives. He nevertheless retains a side that acts from emotionally youthful motives.
May
An assault attacker who throws opponents off balance with powerful rushing moves.
Bright and cheerful, May does not worry about small details. She believes in taking action before overthinking difficult matters, and her energetic initiative often sweeps her companions along. Even when they feel exasperated and exhausted by her words and actions, her consistently positive attitude gives the people around her encouragement.
Axl Low
A long-range attacker who shuts opponents down from a distance.
A young man from the 20th century with the power to manipulate time, Axl's motto is that taking things loosely can be just the right way to handle them. He does not take matters too seriously, tending to resolve them in an easygoing, approximate fashion. He is exceptionally compassionate and cannot ignore someone in trouble. Above all, he strongly hates death and will never impose a punishment that takes someone's life, even on the worst villain.
Zato-ONE
A technical shadow warrior who overwhelms opponents with two simultaneous attackers.
The former leader of an assassin organisation, Zato was revived after dying. Before his death, he combined a calm manner with shrewd, considered thought. Since his resurrection, however, nothing stirs his feelings. He now finds no significance in good or evil, joy or anger, or even his own life. Millia alone awakens an impulse in him that can be called emotion.
Ramlethal Valentine
A brigadier who controls mid-range combat with two greatswords.
Ramlethal is a girl who belongs to the biological weapons known as Valentines, born in the Backyard. Valentines originally have no emotions and no standards of value beyond their objective. They have no concept of good or evil, nor of liking or disliking anything. The orders of the being they call Mother are therefore absolute. There is no personal belief or affection behind their obedience, and they feel neither doubt nor oppression: they simply follow orders mechanically. They regard even their own lives as components for accomplishing their purpose. Ramlethal as an individual, however, shows slight fluctuations of emotion.
Leo Whitefang
A twin-blade all-rounder who overwhelms opponents from a stance that turns his back towards them.
The second king of the United Kingdom of Illyria, Leo speaks boldly and roughly but is surprisingly cautious inside. He hates losing and has considerable pride, yet spares no effort when solving a problem. As a hobby, he keeps his own dictionary, assigning people and events to existing words.
Nagoriyuki
A noble vampire samurai whose blood-drinking blade delivers devastating blows.
A large-bodied samurai and vampire, Nagoriyuki combines his imposing physique and exceptional fighting skills with the supernatural powers of a vampire.
