Break beyond the limits of 2D action

This is the sequel to Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX, originally released in September 2019.

The previous game demonstrated the limits of 2D action with speed far beyond conventional games and stylish movement. This sequel breaks through those limits by adding Copen's new Break-Shift action and the pleasure of destruction to the established high-speed action. Inti Creates presents full-fledged 2D action that breaks beyond the extreme.

Story

Copen, the Luminous Avenger iX, has brought a brief period of peace to the world through his exploits.

In this peaceful world, he devotes himself to research, his personal hobby.

After the battle, a mysterious rifle-shaped information terminal known as the Key Rifle had somehow come into his possession. As Copen works to repair and investigate it, a wormhole suddenly appears during his research. Copen and his companions are drawn into it.

When Copen next awakens, he is in another world: a desert inhabited by mechanical life forms known as Workers.

To find a way home, he begins climbing the Grave Pillar, a tower said to contain all knowledge, accompanied by Lola and Kohaku, who were transported with him, and Null, a Worker girl they have just met...

Full-fledged 2D action that breaks beyond the extreme

Copen destroys attacking robots with the Razor Wheel, a spinning-saw weapon, as he traverses the many different stages within the tower.

A boss waits at the end of each stage. Defeating a boss earns an EX Weapon that reproduces that boss's attacks. Each boss is vulnerable to different EX Weapons, making the order in which you tackle stages an important part of overcoming them.

The Bullit Dash, which allows you to fly freely through the air, is even more powerful than in the previous game. Master this ultra-fast dash and pursue the ultimate in stylish play.

Add the pleasure of destruction to ultra-fast action

Copen switches seamlessly between the power-focused Break-Shift and the speed-focused Bullit-Shift.

Repeatedly destroying enemies in Break-Shift accumulates points and activates Overdrive. While in Overdrive, Copen can remain in Bullit-Shift for longer and race through the air at high speed.

The Muse of Hope, Lola, is cuter than ever—and her songs enliven the game

When Copen's HP reaches zero, the turnaround skill Anthem activates. His partner robot, Lola, transforms and revives him through the power of song.

As an additional assistance feature, Lola transforms into a cute healer appearance and fully restores his health at any time, anywhere and as often as necessary, at no cost.

When the Kudos combo value built up through stylish play exceeds 1,000, Lola begins singing and brings extra excitement to the battle.

An intense standalone story

This game's setting is a different world entirely separate from the earlier series. An even harsher story unfolds in this other world of machines and desert.

Enjoy a completely new tale brought to life by the strong returning cast and appealing new cast members.

Copen, the protagonist, is voiced by Yuma Uchida; Lola, the Muse, by Mayu Mineda; Kohaku, the heroine, by Yumiri Hanamori; and Null, the new heroine, by Sumire Morohoshi.

A guest boss included on the physical game disc

Kohaku Otori from COGEN: Sword of Rewind appears as a guest boss. This content is installed in the physical edition's game data, so no separate redemption is necessary.
