What is .hack//G.U.?

The .hack series is a large-scale cross-media project linked with anime, manga, novels and more.

Its second season, .hack//G.U., was released for PlayStation 2 in three volumes beginning on May 18, 2006. Experience an intense drama involving an engaging cast led by protagonist Haseo, voiced by Takahiro Sakurai.

The World R:2 is the world’s largest network RPG. Unmet companions and exciting adventures should have been waiting there.

Yet this virtual world could not become the utopia its players hoped for.

PK, players killing one another, runs rampant. Countless conflicts between guilds repeat again and again. Mysterious phenomena begin to occur that even the game’s developers do not remember programming.

The world has begun descending into a lawless territory that even its system administrators cannot control.

Amid this turmoil, a new player named Haseo logs in.

Bored by his everyday life in the real world, he meets two mysterious players, Ovan and Shino, who begin to capture his interest.

Meeting them draws Haseo into a new incident that is beginning to infect The World.

Before long, Haseo’s relationship with The World begins to extend beyond the realm of a game played for fun.

Eight months after he began playing, Haseo is pursuing an unidentified PK known as Tri-Edge. He has become a PKK, a player who kills player killers, to defeat Tri-Edge and save Shino, who was killed by a PK.

Eventually, the malice within the network begins reaching toward the real world.

And Haseo awakens.

New Volume 4 episode: Reconnection

To find Ovan, who should have disappeared beyond the network, Haseo logs into The World once again.

A girl with a mysterious air suddenly appears before Haseo as he searches for Ovan. Who is she really?

In Volume 4, Haseo gains a new power: his 5th Form, a further Job Extend beyond Xth Form.
