PlayStation 4 .hack//G.U. Last Recode Premium Edition

The .hack series celebrates its fifteenth anniversary

The .hack//G.U. series, originally released in three volumes on PlayStation 2, returns as an HD remaster.

The entire game is presented in full HD at 1080p, with output at up to 60 frames per second. Higher-resolution movies and backgrounds bring more beautiful graphics, while improved battle pacing and game balance make the adventure substantially easier to enjoy.

All screen layouts have been changed to 16:9, with support for 4K output on PlayStation 4 Pro and PC.

Cheat Mode, which lets you begin with the strongest character data, and a retry function have been added for returning players and those who want to focus on the story.

Basic controls, menu functions, battle balance and many other elements have also been improved.

Four volumes together on one game disc

The game disc contains all three original .hack//G.U. volumes, the new Volume 4 episode and Terminal Disc, a collection of digest videos covering the preceding .hack// games.

Volume 4 takes place one year and three months after Volume 3. To rescue the vanished Ovan, Haseo descends into The World once again.

What is .hack//G.U.?

The .hack series is a large-scale project linking games with anime, manga, novels and other media.

Its second season, .hack//G.U., began on PlayStation 2 on May 18, 2006, with a story told across three volumes. Experience an intense drama with a compelling cast, led by Haseo, voiced by Takahiro Sakurai.

The World R:2 is the world's largest network RPG. New companions and enjoyable adventures should have awaited its players there.

Yet this virtual world could not become the utopia they had hoped for.

Player killing runs rampant, countless conflicts between guilds repeat themselves, and mysterious phenomena appear that even the game's developers do not remember programming.

The world begins sliding into a lawless state beyond even its system administrators' control.

Amid this turmoil, a new player named Haseo logs in.

Bored with everyday life in the real world, he becomes interested in two mysterious players he meets there: Ovan and Shino.

Meeting them draws Haseo into a new incident beginning to infect The World.

Before long, the relationship between Haseo and The World begins to extend beyond the boundaries of a game played for fun.

Eight months after he begins playing, Haseo is pursuing an unidentified player killer known as Tri-Edge. As a player-killer killer, he hunts Tri-Edge to save Shino, who was attacked.

Eventually, the malice within the network begins to reach the real world.

And Haseo awakens.

Volume 4: Or the Dream of the Serpents That Weave the World

After repeated problems, the MMORPG The World R:2 is scheduled to end its service.

Haseo logs into The World again to find Ovan, who was thought to have disappeared beyond the network.

A girl with a mysterious air suddenly appears before Haseo as he searches. Who is she?

In Volume 4, Haseo gains a new power: his 5th Form, a further Job Extend beyond his Xth Form.
